Alexys Fleming © I am a 20 year old licensed Cosmetologist, self-taught Makeup Artist, licensed Esthetician, Type 1 Diabetic, and Optimist. I stand for anti-bullying, awareness, creativity, and self expression. Makeup is more than just a perception of beauty, it is used to make people feel confident, or make them into a completely new character. You can be whatever you put your mind to in the world of art, but most importantly, always be yourself. Unless you can be something with a super power. Always take the super powers.

Although I am a makeup artist, it bothers me when people post over dramatic before and after photos. Yes, sometimes makeup makes a huge difference, but that doesnt mean theyre not beautiful without it.
Just a thought. There is a difference between good lighting and bad lighting, smiling and not smiling. When people post "before and after" photos and people comment "omgggg! They look so much better," yes, it is a compliment to the artist, but a total insult to the client! Although I am a makeup artist, people are beautiful with and without makeup! We are here to enhance already beautiful features on ourselves and clients, not point out those

Lex's Thoughts on YOLO

Thoughts I have late at night mid-insomnia: I see "YOLO" being thrown everywhere... I even saw it on a hat in Claire's at the mall! You would think that "you only live once," would make people realize that they only have one lifetime to impact the world, and leave behind a story or great history to represent them once they are gone. Although I don't ever use "YOLO", if I had to explain what it meant to me, it would be that I only have one shot in the years that I have on this earth to fulfill my dreams and to be happy... For me, that means to create my own makeup business, and medical spa down the road, and to influence the lives of thousands
